Slow it down

Dallas-Fort Worth can at times appear little more than a series of highways, ever expanding across the infinite Metroplex. The cities caught between all run together, wave after wave of chain stores and office buildings. The surroundings are easy to ignore, especially as you're speeding past at 80 miles per hour from one end of the world to the other.

But sometimes traffic makes you slow down. And your eyes wander. And for the first time, you notice particular trees or billboards—signs!—and you feel out of place and you ask if you're on the right road headed in the right direction.

Maybe you plug your destination into your GPS for reassurance. And when traffic lets up, you start moving again and you're on your way. And now you know you're heading in the right direction. Because you took advantage of the opportunity to slow down.
